About us
We are a mixed animal practice (approximately 50% bovine, 30% small animal, and
20% equine) in beautiful Absarokee, Montana. Our three doctor practice offers full and
emergency services for our bovine and agricultural patients: herd health & preventative
care, surgery, breeding, intensive care, podiatry, and emergency services before and after
hours. For our equine and small animal patients we offer a wide range of services:
preventative care, expanding surgical services, dental care, intensive equine services,
acupuncture, and emergency services. All of our patients have advanced equipment
available for therapeutics and diagnostics: Abaxis analyzers & modern laboratory
capabilities, three portable ultrasound units, portable and tilt Silencer chutes, fully
wireless radiography, dental, endoscopy, cloud based software with a nearly paperless
approach, and more. The DVMs share on-call responsibilities evenly between them, with
the caseload after hours being mostly large animals as there are 24 hour clinics near by for the small animal emergencies . There are opportunities for growth in a number of areas, including equine reproduction and small animal surgery. We host veterinary students from all over the country for externships and preceptor experiences, so mentorship is in our blood.

We have developed a strong cow/calf clientele comprised of many progressive purebred breeders and large commercial operations. Our team also provides veterinary services for one of the largest bull development centers in the U.S. With the recent addition of a hydraulic tilt chute, Stillwater Veterinary clinic is becoming a referral center for bovine lameness cases in the region. Offering all our clients the highest level of care and cutting-edge medicine is a true passion for our team.

Our Culture
Our clients know us by name, and are overwhelmingly a great group of folks who
care about their critters. We are managed by a young team, driven to create a stellar work
environment while supporting our local agriculture and pet owning community. We are
adding a DVM so that we can continue our 4 day work week and still handle our growing
caseload. We strive to provide the best service for our clients and our patients while
remaining proud and protective of the positive, team oriented culture we have developed.

Our Surroundings
The Absarokee lifestyle includes a small town culture with big city vibes only an
hour away. Billings, MT is within sixty miles while Red Lodge, MT is less than thirty-five
miles away. Our area’s warmer months are jam packed with adventurous activities
including hiking, camping, white water rafting, boating, and so much more. During the
cooler months skiing, ice fishing, and hunting are popular. Our clinic participates in a team
building activity at least once a year. Last year we went white water rafting!

The ideal candidate has a strong background in production animal medicine, but would be willing to pitch in on small animal or equine cases. We offer the opportunity to be part of a truly special team and the chance to really find one’s niche in beautiful, smalltown Montana.
