Animal Health Center of Land O' Lakes opened its doors in 2008 in order to serve our rapidly expanding community. Our goal is for our team of highly-trained, caring individuals to deliver unparalleled patient care and create lasting client relationships. Our hospital has since grown to be a four doctor practice with a wonderful, dedicated support staff!
The Lead Veterinarian serves as the medical leader of the practice, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that results in an excellent treatment experience for the patients and clients we serve, as well as an excellent employment experience for the practice’s patient care team.
The Lead Veterinarian works with the associate veterinarian and the Regional Medical Director to help ensure that quality and appropriate veterinary medicine is performed within the practice. Additionally, they partner with the Practice Manager in matters of general management, staffing/scheduling, as well as ensuring that operational and financial goals are being met.
This position will be supported in-hospital by the previous lead veterinarian, so we are happy to consider veterinarians with strong leadership experience or less experienced veterinarians with goals of leadership in the future.

For residents and visitors alike, there’s no shortage of things to do in the Greater Tampa Bay area, whether it’s paddling along the Hillsborough River, enjoying a pro football or hockey game, riding a thrill-coaster at Busch Gardens, attend an opera at the Straz Center or relaxing at nearby Clearwater & St. Petersburg Beaches. Tampa Bay has it all!
Our hospital is proud to be part of the American Veterinary Group (AVG) of hospitals. AVG owns and operates 130+ veterinary practices throughout the Southern United States. As a hands-on operator of hospitals, we know that people make the difference between a good practice and a great practice. We pride ourselves on encouraging our practices to make medical decisions at the local practice level. As such, we do not provide any company-wide medical protocols and rely on the expertise of our teams to make decisions that best serve their clients and teams. All of our practices are unique - from our small animal companion general practices, to our UrgentVet locations, and our mixed animal and equine practices. We would love to discuss our current openings with you further to see if you might be a good fit for our team!
