With the motto “Special Care from the Heart,” California Veterinary Specialists (CVS) is one of the nation’s leading providers of advanced veterinary services for pets in need of critical emergency care and treatment of serious acute and chronic illnesses. Our board certified team of specialists and experienced emergency doctors work collaboratively to provide the best integrated veterinary care available.
We are seeking a dedicated full-time emergency veterinarian or critical care specialist to join our dynamic team. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work a flexible 3-day workweek while enjoying a generous paid 6-weeks vacation (in addition to 1 week paid CE and 1 week paid sick time) per year. You will be responsible for providing exceptional emergency and critical care services to our patients, utilizing your advanced medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. Collaboration with our experienced team of veterinary professionals and support staff will be essential to delivering the highest standard of care. Our highly collaborative in-house team consists of 10 emergency doctors as well as internal medicine, surgery, oncology, cardiology, dermatology and dentistry specialty services, as well as additional specialists available at our sister hospitals in San Diego and San Bernardino counties.
As an emergency veterinarian or critical care specialist, you will handle a diverse caseload of urgent and critical cases, including trauma cases, toxicities, and other life-threatening emergencies. Our emergency doctors have the opportunity to perform surgery, if interested, but not required. Strong communication skills are crucial as you will interact with pet owners to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognosis in a compassionate and empathetic manner. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor and supervise interns while upholding best practices in emergency and critical care medicine.
If you are passionate about emergency and critical care medicine and are looking to make a meaningful impact in the veterinary field, we invite you to apply for this rewarding position.
